Sable Studio Gallery is situated in the beautiful grounds of the Moira Furnace Museum overlooking Ashby canal. Here you will find a range of classes and workshops in painting and drawing, mosaics, jewellery making, glass painting and decorative furniture techniques by a fully qualified and experienced tutor Jo Allsopp. Also in the gallery you will find some truely beautiful hand made gifts for sale which include hand made jewellery (including Sliksilver keepsake fingerprint jewellery), original paintings, prints, gift cards, glassware, furniture (includes personalized children's toy boxes), table and chairs plus keepsake boxes, slate house signs and antiques. We also offer commissions; portraits of family (or the family pet!), logo designs, personalised house portraits,unique christening gifts, Children's bedroom murals and sign painting. Other services on offer include the very popular 'Arty Party' where your child can choose their chosen project, invite all of their friends to make their super arty things here in the gallery where we will even clear up all of the mess for you. The room can also be hired for party food afterwards, otherwise why not let them bring a picnic to enjoy overlooking the canal where there is lots of open space for them to let off some energy. On site, you will also finda playground,nature trails, Hub Cafe, Furnace Lane Pottery, Bell & Blossom Photography, Kimble's Music and Movement and other craft units and toilets. As an added bonus, parking is free.
